So yesterday, while at home, I thought I’d take a few minutes to paint my nook. My nook is a small bench-like area with a pretty painting hanging over it. The bench lifts up for storage underneath. So I grabbed a small container of paint that I bought at a local thrift store for fifty cents and a paint brush and got ready. I loaded up my brush with lots of paint and started brushing it on, to and fro. To my surprise it wasn’t white at all but more of a pale mauve color. I swear, this little container of paint looked snow white from the outside. So as I gasped and stared at those three huge brushstrokes of mauve-ish paint now wet and in stark contrast to what was on the bench, I thought to myself, what do I do?! I ran, that’s what I did! I ran to the kitchen, grabbed some paper towel, sprayed it with Watkins all purpose spray and ran back to the bench and wiped off the paint. Fortunately it came right off. Now here’s the ironic and funny thing. I grumbled as I walked back to get the container of paint and wondered what shade of white this was. I then laughed out loud when I saw the name of the paint on top of the container. It was called, “White Lie,” I kid you not! I cannot think of a more aptly named paint color. 🙂
