Stovetop Goulash

Ahh, what’s more comforting on a cold night than a bowl of macaroni, tomatoes and ground beef? You will have supper on the table in no time with this fast, delicious and easy recipe.

  • 2 tsp of olive oil to fry up the ground beef
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp Italian Herb spices
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup macaroni

In a large non-stick pan, heat the olive oil, add the beef and cook until it is well-browned. Push the beef to one side and add the chopped onion and cook until the onion starts to brown, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook 2 minutes more.

Add the water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and juice, Italian Herb Seasoning, bay leaves, soy sauce, garlic powder, Montreal Steak Seasoning, salt & pepper. Stir the mixture together, then add 1 cup of uncooked macaroni and cover with lid for about 20 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn’t stick on the bottom and give it a stir every now and then. When macaroni is done, discard the bay leaves and serve hot.

We had ours with garlic breadsticks.
