7-Layer Magic Cookie Bars


Now truth be told, I’ve never actually counted the layers in these bars because I was too busy eating them. And the only magic I see is how such simple flavors can combine together and create the most addictive treat around. There is nothing like smelling these baking in the oven and then pulling them out once the coconut has turned a light golden color and then sinking your teeth into the ooey-gooey goodness of these wonderful delights. Always a hit with everyone, especially me.

  • 1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 (14 oz) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1-1/3 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (I use pecans)


Heat oven to 350

Spray pan with No-stick spray

Combine melted butter and graham cracker crumbs and press into the bottom of a 13×9 once it has been sprayed. Press mixture firmly into bottom of pan. Pour condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Sometimes I have to tilt the pan to coat it evenly. Layer evenly the remaining ingredients, Press down firmly with a fork.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Loosen from sides of pan while still warm; cool on wire rack. Cut into bars or diamonds. Enjoy!
